City Ballet Presents: The Nutcracker with the Cape Fear Chorale

  • Wilson Center 703 North 3rd Street Wilmington, NC, 28401 United States (map)

Step into the enchanting world of The Nutcracker with Cape Fear Chorale and Wilmington City Ballet. For select performances, our choristers will join the treble choir, lending their voices to the magical ballet narrative. On the final show, we’ll open the evening with a special pre-show concert showcasing holiday favorites and highlights from our seasonal repertoire.

Whether it’s the shimmering snow scene, the dazzling Pas de Deux, or the sugar-sweet finale, this production promises a festive treat for audience members of all ages. Don’t miss your chance to witness this timeless holiday tradition — beautifully staged, musically rich, and full of wonder.

Cape Fear Chorale

Cape Fear Chorale believes in the transformative power of music. We celebrate the expressive capacity of the human voice and the ability choral music has to heal, unite, and inspire our community. To that end, we are committed to building and enriching our community through exceptional choral artistry and by creating meaningful, educational, and inclusive musical experiences. Cape Fear Chorale (an incorporated nonprofit 501[c][3] organization) is totally dependent upon donations. Cape Fear Chorale is under the direction of Dr. Aaron Peisner, Artistic Director, and Conductor. All members are volunteers and the group is comprised of 85 auditioned singers each semester. Cape Fear Chorale presents two concerts annually, one in the fall and one in the spring.

Wilmington City Ballet

Wilmington City Ballet is a flourishing dance institution serving Wilmington and the greater Cape Fear area. Founded and led by Andrea C. Hill, it is the region’s only school devoted exclusively to classical ballet, enrolling nearly 150 students. For over 25 years, City Ballet has staged a rich repertoire of classical and original works—including A Carolina Nutcracker (with full orchestra), Beauty and the Beast, The Snow Queen, and Alice in Wonderland. Under the guidance of experienced instructors and former professional dancers, the school offers training for students from age 3 through adult, nurturing technical excellence, artistic growth, and performance opportunities that often include younger dancers in its main stage productions.
