Cape Fear Chorale Presents: Carmina Burana

  • Wilson Center 703 North 3rd Street Wilmington, NC, 28401 United States (map)

Cape Fear Chorale, in collaboration with the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra and the UNCW Choirs, proudly presents Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana—a powerful and provocative work that continues to thrill audiences nearly a century after its premiere.

Best known for its unforgettable opening and closing movement "O Fortuna," this epic cantata sets 24 medieval poems to explosive music that explores the whims of fate, the pleasures of life, and the unpredictability of fortune. From grand choral forces to intimate solos, Carmina Burana is a feast of rhythm, intensity, and raw emotion.

Join us for an unforgettable evening of music that is both ancient and timeless—bold, bawdy, and breathtakingly beautiful.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to experience Orff’s masterpiece live on stage in one of Wilmington’s premier venues.

Cape Fear Chorale believes in the transformative power of music. We celebrate the expressive capacity of the human voice and the ability choral music has to heal, unite, and inspire our community. To that end, we are committed to building and enriching our community through exceptional choral artistry and by creating meaningful, educational, and inclusive musical experiences. Cape Fear Chorale (an incorporated nonprofit 501[c][3] organization) is totally dependent upon donations. Cape Fear Chorale is under the direction of Dr. Aaron Peisner, Artistic Director, and Conductor. All members are volunteers and the group is comprised of 85 auditioned singers each semester. Cape Fear Chorale presents two concerts annually, one in the fall and one in the spring.
